Winter hiking, snowshoe hikes and ski tours: You can go on easier winter hikes in the immediate vicinity. Some of the paths will also be paved to ensure safe winter hiking. In the wider area you can undertake a variety of wonderful mountain hikes and ski tours. However, when planning your tour in the high Alpine region, please pay attention to the avalanche warning reports: www.provinz.bz.it/lawinen for South Tyrol and www.meteotrentino.it for Trentino.
South Tyrolean Christmas markets: Every year guests from north and south come to the Christmas markets in Bolzano, Meran, Trento, Brixen, Bruneck and Sterzing, where they do their Christmas shopping like a sport. But you can also find more Christmas markets in smaller communities.
Winter at the Gridhof
It's quieter on the farm in winter: the cows are in the stable, and during the day you can enjoy the sun in the run. They are fed early in the morning and evening and we muck 2-3 times a week. Over the course of the winter the pigs are slaughtered for our delicious farmer's bacon, then bacon and sausages are made from it.
But you can't really rest in the winter either: Farmer Albert does wood-cutting work in the winter and is usually out and about in the forest.
In the winter, farmer Maria increasingly pursues her profession as an architect. In addition, in winter we always try to improve little things about our holiday apartments and work on marketing.
If you're looking for peace and quiet, especially in winter, you've come to the right place.
You can also get special ones, especially in winterHighlights Experience with us:
Christmas: We pick a Christmas tree in the forest
New Year's Eve: Mulled wine around an open campfire
December to March: Toboggan run in front of the house (depending on snow conditions)
